We meet Tennessee's requirements to hold both firm and individual certification for lead-based paint activities.

 

For immediate on site results we use the SciAps X-550 Analyzer to conduct a non-destructive inspection of painted surfaces and soils.

A lead-based paint inspection and a risk assessment answer different questions. The inspection identifies which painted surfaces contain lead-based paint and where they are located. Finding lead-based paint does not automatically mean a surface is hazardous. Its condition and the potential for exposure matter. The risk assessment identifies which conditions currently present lead hazards, including deteriorated paint and lead in dust or soil, and recommends ways to control those hazards. www.epa.gov

Together, they provide a strong basis for an abatement specification. The inspection gives the designer a surface-by-surface inventory for defining the work area and identifying components that may need treatment. The risk assessment helps prioritize hazardous conditions and address dust and soil as well as paint. The specification can then state the locations, scope, treatment methods, occupant protection measures, and clearance requirements for the project.​
