Water Quality Testing & Management Plan
We hold the American Society of Sanitary Engineering 12080 credential for Legionella-specific water quality management. This adheres to ASHRAE 188, the standard for Legionellosis risk management in building water systems.
Legionella water management plan development is the process of creating a building-specific program to reduce the conditions that allow Legionella bacteria to grow and spread through water systems. The process typically includes:

Assembling a team that understands the building, its water systems, and who will carry out the plan.

Mapping the water systems and identifying places where water may stagnate, conditions may favor bacterial growth, or water mist may expose people.

Setting control measures and limits, with assigned monitoring tasks and records.

Defining corrective actions for when a control limit is missed.

The finished plan should be practical for the facility’s staff to use: it identifies responsibilities, monitoring locations and schedules, response steps, and documentation. It is an ongoing operating program, so it needs review as the building, water systems, or their use changes.
